With half an eye on the burgeoning genre of field recordings, 'Half Man Half Owl' sees Joel Ongthorne (sometime Diskono agitator) and Melissa Rockmoore generate gaping sonic landscapes characterized by wind-soaked melodies.
Out of a persistent breeze, pinprick fragments escape, occasionally referencing atrophied field recordings; static sitting alongside microscopic pulses, shrouded in echo. This is music and animation - the generous 3" CDR also includes animation by Diskono co-conspirator Klaus Oldanburg - for the post-cassette generation. Small, but sweet.
