Goem n. 1 a Russian word for the shops where only communist party members could buy. Now abolished.
Goem is a collaboration by Peter Duimelinks, Roel Meelkop and Frans de Waard. Established by de Waard (Kapotte Muziek, Beequeen, Shifts) in September 1996, Roel Meelkop (THU20, Kapotte Muziek) soon joined and together they recorded 'Stud Stim' (Raster Music). In May 1997 Peter Duimelinks (THU20, Kapotte Muziek) joined and since then they have recorded extensively and played live worldwide, performing in Barcelona, Berlin and Amsterdam.
Goem first collaborated with Fällt to release 'invalidObject Series (switch)' in 2000's acclaimed 'invalidObject Series'.
