Tu m' | Pop Involved [Version 3.0] Italian duo Tu m' - Rossano Polidoro and Emiliano Romanelli, whose moniker is taken from Marcel Duchamp's last painting 'Tu m'' (1918) - have deservedly risen to prominence recently with celebrated works on Cut, ERS/Staalplaat and Aesova. Frequent collaborators - they have released works with Steve Roden and recently formed a new group titled 'Steno' with Frank Metzger (ex Oval) - the duo also have numerous tracks on compilations including Apestaartje's recent release 'Object Set and Motion'.

In addition to their work as musicians, Polidoro and Romanelli work as video artists and curate both the web-based label Tu M'p3 and CDR label Mr Mutt Records. Tu M'p3 has released work by a glittering array of artists from a diverse range of artistic backgrounds, from Noël Akchoté, Alejandra and Aeron, and Ian Andrews, to z_e_l_l_e, Zeitblom and Harald 'Sack' Ziegler. Mr Mutt Records equally draws together the talents of Scanner, Sogar and TV Pow.

The second release in Fällt's 'Ferric' Series sees Polidoro and Romanelli, "simply investigating the pleasure of melody". Tu m' state:

"It may sound like a cliché, but glitches represent for us a source of real innovation in the music of the new millennium. They affect both melody and rhythm in their deep structure, highlighting micro-variations that we explore. Structural faults are good starting points for our pieces - finding an 'error' in a loop or in a track is a wonderful surprise, and that error becomes a source for our ideas."

'Pop Involved [Version 3.0]', as its title suggests, followed an iterative development path. The third version in a series of upgrades that unfolded since late 2002, it collects fourteen tracks which chart "the liquid borders between electronica, improv and Duchampian readymades."

In the words of Dan Warburton (The Wire) it demonstrates that while "playing good melodies can be as difficult as showing off your avant garde chops… 'Pop Involved' successfully manages to do both."
